Tips on writing!
1. For beginners try writing your message in cursive fonts, it will be harder if you start in block font. Cursive writing fits in whimsical cakes especially if your printed alphabet is shaky.
2. If you are using Buttercream frosting in your cakes make it sure it is refrigerated, it will easy to scrape off if you have errors in writing.
3.Take a time to cut out a piece of parchment exactly the same size of your cake surface and plan out what you wish to write on paper. Lay the paper on top of your chilled cake and prick out the letters through parchment paper with toothpick then remove the paper and pipe the message using visible letters on the cake.
4.Always do the written portion of your cake design before adding the rest of the decorations in order to leave enough room for message. It is easier to add than takeaway.
5. Pipe your letters as slow as required by your skill level and type of writing you are putting on cake. Keep the bag at 45 degreee angle and do not drag the tip through the icing.Take your time and if you do error try make the letter more attractive with dot, lines, and swirls to camouflage the mistakes.
